Louis Vuitton Carousel

Louis Vuitton ends Paris Fashion Week with a Carousel of pastel delights...

Last season for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs sent his models to the runway in caged elevators complete with uniformed operators to open the doors. Kate Moss closed the show while smoking a cigarette.

For Louis Vuitton’s spring 2012 collection Jacobs set his show on a fully operating motherfecking CAROUSEL. The carousel was covered by a white curtain, so when the show started just before it’s scheduled start time at 10 a.m. when the curtain dropped one by one models hopped off their horses and walked the round runway. Kate Moss, once again, closed the show, merry-go-round in a voluminous eyelet dress dotted with feathers.

The collection itself fully encompassed the image of wonderland. Large puff skirts, small tailored

jackets and high-cut shorts all created a dreamy world of funfair fantasy.

Whites and silver were the signature colours but these were injected with candy floss pinks, butter yellows and dolly blues.

Skirts were cut just below the knee, which gave the line an overall 50s feel. Models wore their

hair in elegant chignons and completed the look with alice bands which further enhanced the

retro vibe.

The clothes exuded femininity, skirts and jackets were decorated with cut-out floral designs.

Ostrich feathers danced around dresses and perfectly complimented drop waists. Macramé and

thick lace collars were all confirmed as this season's must have trends.

Their signature bags completed the look with pale pastel leathers and big daisy appliqués.

However, the complete collection was too sugary. The lighter tones were cut with black and navy

and the laser-cut designs added a sharp edge of precision.

The models wore pointed heels with patent straps and silver toes. They carried monogrammed

parasols for an extra boost of ladylike glamour.

I fell in love with the hairstyling. All Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's style up-dos. There

are even jewelled headbands and some tiaras.

Finally the make-up was minimal with an emphasis on the lashesExtra long lashes, glowing skin and pearly peach lips made for an ultra glamorous look. The models sported lush lashes on a nude face, so natural and pretty!

P.S. I am so sorry for not posting for a long time but I have to admit I've been very busy. I have so many ideas I want to share with you...
