Lanvin Christmas tree for Claridge's

This cheeky and whimsical Christmas tree, designed by Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz, is ready to greet guests at London's Claridges Hotel.

The Mayfair hotel is famous for its luxurious festive offering, and this year long-time guest Elbaz has turned the tree into his very own Lanvin Christmas fantasy. Guests arriving in the hotel's Art Deco Lobby will spot that the tree wanders from tradition in several key elements, notably the inclusion of Mr Elbaz as a fairy at its peak, complete with his trademark spectacles and bow tie. The colourful and whimsical design is a tableau of fantasy caricatures, including Mr and Mrs Lanvin plus Mr Lanvin's mistress, a Claridge's doorman and a hotel maid dressed in Lanvin-designed uniforms.

The Paris-based designer follows in the footsteps of fellow faithful Claridge's guest John Galliano, who created a Dior tree for the iconic hotel in 2009 and 2010. The tree is traditionally unveiled with a star-studded party, which this year will take place in December - attended by Elbaz himself - and will be on display in the hotel from November 22 until January 2.

Here are the Dior Versions

2009

Well Galliano wanted to give the touch of Dior at his creations. The tree takes its inspiration from icy snow scenes, mixed with a tropical twist,It is painted in white and metallic blue and perched among its branches are a handmade leopard, several parrots and a dragonfly.

2010

This 50 ft. Christmas tree will light up every time someone kisses under the mistletoe. There are 50,000 red and white LEDs on it which are set off by a big pucker. This time Galliano’s muse is the sea, so the tree appears to flutter up the hotel’s dramatic central stairwell like a delicate pink coral covered in fish, seahorses, anemone and jellyfish.

Well, do you like them in your living room?
I really liked the Lanvin Tree. Galliano's are more arty I think, more inspiring. This Lanvin is         funnier(in a good way). And don't forget it is always a Christmas Tree. It has to be joyful.
Don't forget the detail on the top of the tree.
