Balmain 2012

After so many posts about Gucci, an idea came to me, to rename this blog to IN GUCCI WE TRUST.. True!!! But I won't. I like fashion including Gucci, but not only Gucci.

So this time I decided to make a post for Balmain.

I really like Balmain.

According to Net-a-porter.com Balmain brand is now considered the cool girl's destination for ornately embellished outerwear, spray-on leather pants and directional tough-luxe dresses.

The house is known for its classic, luxurious designs. Until 2011, the house was led by designer Christophe Decarnin, whose vision for the house is more modern and edgier. In April 2011, the fashion house announced that Decarnin was succeeded by Olivier Rousteing.

In around 2008 and 2009, the clothing line became extremely popular both among fashion magazines, runways and celebrities. His 2010 collection, shown during Paris fashion week, was said to be "totally retro" and "brought back the glitz and glitter of the 70s disco era".

And now I want to say that with the 2012 collection I am speachless.

His collection was once again inspired by Glam rock, but the glamorous men’s side the genre, i.e. David Bowie. Balmain also got a lot more sleek and mellow with this collection. It did have the usual short, rock sensibility, and of course leather.Balmain also added a new style to their collection that has never been featured before in the past ones, a skinny jumpsuit. Another new addition to the fashion house is t-shirts that are not in a cotton material (one shown above). A great take on the usual cotton and drapes just like it.

I want to show you some looks below

BALMAIN BRING ROCKER-CHIC TO THE MASSES

French fashion house Balmain has a huge cult following because of its incredible punk rock-inspired threads, and now the brand is coming out with Pierre Balmain, a diffusion line that will be at about a 90% cheaper price point than the original line.

For those of you who adore the look of Balmain’s signature bold shoulders, studs and chains, and super-skinny jeans, the Pierre Balmain collection will be your dream come true. It is expected to make its debut in December 2011, just in time for the holidays.

According to WWD, Olivier Rousteing, who recently replaced Christophe Decarnin as Balmain’s head designer, will ensure that the collection is “even more sophisticated and couture-like—without, of course, renouncing that ‘roc’ aesthetic that has been so important for us these the last few years. The Pierre Balmain collection translates the codes of Balmain in a more casual and relaxed manner.”

According to the British newspaper Daily Mail though, this line will not be designed by the new creative director Olivier Rousteing. Instead, a design team based in Italy will create pieces for the line, which will be named Pierre Balmain. The price points for the Pierre Balmain collection will be almost 90% cheaper than the main collection, with prices starting at about $170 USD and going up to a ceiling of approximately $1,300 USD. People now can be happy to own a piece of Balmain in their closets without breaking the bank to fork out about $10,000 USD for a pair of their distressed jeans.
